the infuriating thing abt sherlock (narrator: there were many) is that it definitely doesn't Intend for us to read it as gay. but reading it as gay is perfectly thematically consistent. the core of the story is that john and sherlock are contrasting characters learning from each other. john is learning to embrace the unconventional. sherlock is learning the value of emotions. obvious synthesis: john and sherlock having unconventional emotions together. hmm... maybe the ones you bring up five times an episode???
